Xiph.Org's educational videos present the technical foundations of modern digital media as increasingly detailed installments. One community member described the first episode as “a Uni[versity] lecture I never got[,] but really wanted”.

So, without any further ado, welcome to one hell of a new hobby.

Episodes

The episode explains modern digital media from historical origins, basic concepts, to modern implementation. It’s intended for engineers, (software) hackers, mathematicians — the people who are interested in discovering and making things and building the technology itself — and budding geeks wanting to begin exploring video coding, as well as the technically‐curious who want to know more about the media they wrangle for work or play.
