• get contents of old list
• subscribe the new list to the old list
• add all the users from the old list to the new list
• shut off subscription to the old list
• mail out announce of new list addy

Archives

• have the old list homepage redirect to the new list homepage
• mirror old archives on new site somewhere
• have old archive URLs redirect to new URLs
