- get contents of old list
- subscribe the new list to the old list
- add all the users from the old list to the new list
- shut off subscription to the old list
- mail out announce of new list addy
Archives
- have the old list homepage redirect to the new list homepage
- mirror old archives on new site somewhere
- have old archive URLs redirect to new URLs
